Golf Parent for the future
Summary from the book with the same by Pia Nilsson and Lynn Mariott
We see junior golf as a time for young golfers to learn who they are as people. It is through golf and the way they have prepared both at home and on the golf course, that they gain a healthy sense of self-respect and self-management. Their experiences allow them to gain their confidence and self-esteem as well as feel good about themselves. They know their motivation bubbles up from within. They learn to trust their ability to perform and have a sense that their future is destined for great things.
Golf will always provide highs and lows. This text is about equipping ourselves with more skills and tools to better respond to these emotional peaks and valleys.
We believe with a little awareness, education and getting clear with your intentions about your child’s golf experience, you can mindfully rework “losing” situations into something positive.
